Description
Lee Medoff started House Spirits Distillery in 2004, where he helped create several popular craft spirit brands of which his namesake Medoyeff Vodka and Aviation Gin are the most successful. He was one of the founding members and first president of the Oregon Distillers Guild, America’s first craft distillers guild. In 2010, with his sights set on making a pure malt Oregon Whiskey, he started Bull Run Distillery. It is here that he focuses on creating dark, aged spirits, from rum made with Hawaiian cane sugar to many expressions of whiskey.

Bourbon Old Fashioned Recipe
The Old Fashioned is one of the earliest whiskey cocktails in modern record, thought to be developed in the early 1800s. Though countless modern variations have popped up in the centuries since, the classic Old Fashioned is understood as a simple combination of whiskey (usually bourbon or rye), sugar and bitters. Celebrate America’s “Native Spirit” on National Bourbon Day – June 14 There is something about bourbon that’s captured global attention. Some say the rise in bourbon sales is due to the growth of small batch and single barrel bourbon in the 1990s, while others say it has to do with the resurgence in popularity of hard-liquor swilling characters and settings on television shows such as Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. Whatever the reason, you’ll want to raise a glass of the sweetened amber spirit in a delicious Bourbon Old Fashioned on June 14 as we celebrate the splendor of this great whiskey on National Bourbon Day!
