Black Tot Finest Caribbean Rum, 70 cl
Regular price £40.19
Black Tot is a modern take on an old style of rum, inspired by more than three centuries of naval tradition. Bringing together the core components of British Naval rum, Black Tot is fresh and fruity spirit that blows the cobwebs off the stylebook. Rather than the rich and dark style of the past, Black Tot layers elegant and fruity Barbados rum with rich and full-bodied Guyanan and funky Jamaican to create a rum that marries tropical fruit tones with a rich undercurrent of chocolate and coffee. The team scoured the South Pacific islands and found a distillery in remote Papua New Guinea (in the Ramu River Valley) and another on the cane covered island of Fiji. Rich volcanic soil, unpolluted rain water and sun-drenched sugarcane aged under the intense tropical sun create our lively and fragrant rums. They blend, spice and bottle in a small wine company in Orange, New South Wales, Australia.

Dark & Stormy Cocktail Recipe
Fans of the Moscow Mule, this one’s for you. The Dark ’n Stormy is a delicious, easy-to-make cocktail that features a refreshing trio of dark rum, ginger beer and lime, and it also goes down a lot easier than the name might imply. This popular cocktail is now found all over the world, but can be traced back to the island of Bermuda. Fun fact, it’s still Bermuda's national drink today! It was sailors who first enjoyed mixing rum with the stomach settling ginger ale, and technically a real Dark & Stormy can only be made with Bermuda’s own Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, with notes of caramel, vanilla and spice. However, if you’re simply looking to whip the best Dark & Stormy cocktail recipe up at home, feel free to use any dark rum (we’re not telling anyone!). Note that ginger ale is not a substitute for ginger beer. Ginger ale is just carbonated water that’s flavoured with ginger, like a soda. Ginger beer, on the other hand, is brewed and fermented and this will benefit your Dark & Stormy. We also call for a modest measure of lime juice, but feel free to add more if it suits your taste. Get mixing and set sail!
