Description
It all began in 1878 when Henry Weston began to produce ciders and perries. Using the wide variety of regional fruit grown in the surrounding orchards, he started pressing and blending. The fermented juice soon proved so popular that his work evolved into a business. Today ‘The Bounds’, the charming 17th century farmhouse and cider mill where it all began, remains home to his craft. I’ve been Managing Director since 1996, and have been privileged to see some of the most exciting changes yet. Everyone remains passionate about producing the best cider. I like to think if my Great Grandfather were here, he’d be amazed – but also proud.

Hard Cider Mule Recipe
The Hard Cider Mule Recipe is, as you could probably guess, a take on the well-known Moscow Mule using Apple Cider. But did you know, the Mule cocktail doesn't originate from Moscow anyway? In fact, the famous Moscow Mule was actually invented in 1940s New York, and is sometimes pinned as the drink that ‘started it all’ in regards to the United States affiliation with vodka. Since then, the iconic copper-mugged cocktail has been much loved in many countries around the world. This cocktail has a clever use of vodka: covering up its harsh bite with cider and citrus. As such, the kind of vodka you use doesn't matter all that much, so don’t worry too much about which vodka you need to use. Instead, put more thought into choosing a good, strong, not overly sweet ginger beer (not ginger ale). Make sure you use fresh lime juice, and yes, using a copper mug is preferred aesthetically, but a regular glass will do just fine. The mule is one of our top easy mixed drinks because here’s the thing: you can mix it all in a glass. No tiresome shaking required! The only thing you have to actually do is juice a lime. Pour it into the glass, and you’re good to go!
