February 22 marks National Margarita Day, one of the most popular food & drink holidays celebrated by many around the world. Being drinks enthusiasts ourselves, it certainly is a good excuse to raise a glass of the good stuff. Key ingredients comprising of tequila, triple sec and lime, join us as we make the top 3 most ordered flavours of Margarita around the world. 

CLASSIC MARGARITA 

Ingredients 
50ml Patron Silver Tequila
25ml lime juice
20ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
Ice
For the garnish
salt
2 lime wedges

Method
STEP 1
Sprinkle a few teaspoons of salt over the surface of a small plate or saucer. Rub one wedge of lime along the rim of a tumbler and then dip it into the salt so that the entire rim is covered.

STEP 2
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the tequila, lime juice and triple sec. Shake until the outside of the shaker feels cold.

STEP 3
Strain the mix into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Serve with a wedge of lime.

STRAWBERRY MARGARITA
Ingredients

¼ cup sliced fresh strawberries
50ml Don Julio Blanco Tequila
25ml lime juice
20ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
1 teaspoon white sugar, or to taste (Optional)
1 cup ice cubes
1 wedge lime (Optional)

Method
STEP 1
Blend strawberries, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and 1 teaspoon sugar in blender to combine. Add ice cubes and blend until the ice is crushed.

STEP 2
Rub lime wedge around the rim of a glass. Spread 1 teaspoon sugar onto a plate. Dip glass rim in sugar to coat. Pour margarita into the glass.

KIWI MARGARITA
Ingredients

3 tbsp superfine sugar
50ml Próspero Anejo Tequila by Rita Ora
20ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
2 large kiwis, peeled
1 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups small ice cubes

Method
Combine the sugar, tequila, triple sec, kiwis, and lime juice in a blender; fill with ice cubes; blend until smooth. Enjoy!
