Servings: 4

  • 4 large apples
  • 4 bottles of apple cider
  • Lemon juice
  • Optional: Cinnamon sticks and star anise

  1. Prepare the apples by using a knife to cut off the top of the apple. Then carefully outline where you’d like the “rim” of your apple cup to be, this should be around 1/4" wide. Use a spoon to carefully begin scooping out the centre of your apple until you have a nice “cup”. (A melon baller also works well for this.)
  2. If you want your cider served warm, fill a cooking pot with the bottles of apple cider and place on the stove on a low-medium heat. If you would prefer your cider cold, skip this step.
  3. Once the apples are hollowed into cups, brush the inside with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  4. Fill the cups with cider and top with the optional spice garnish. Serve immediately.
