About this cocktail
Inspired by that viral anchovy martini. Yes, we said anchovy oil.
This briny little bomb is bold, savoury, and ice-cold straight from the bottle. Think martini meets snack plate energy — unapologetically salty, deeply umami, and dangerously sippable. It’s giving “snacky girl summer” in a glass.
Pre-batch it, freeze it, and forget about it until your mates roll in and demand something impressive. No shaking, no stirring — just full main character energy straight from the freezer.
Why it works: High-proof vodka, a splash of water for that silky freezer texture, and zero fresh juice. The anchovy oil melts right in (promise), giving this martini its signature dirty twist.
Method
- Combine: In a large measuring jug or pitcher, pour in the vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, anchovy oil, and water.
- Mix Thoroughly: Whisk or stir vigorously to fully incorporate the anchovy oil.
- Bottle It: Use a funnel to pour the mixture into a clean glass bottle with a tight seal.
- Freeze: Place the bottle in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight. It won’t freeze solid due to the alcohol but will be perfectly chilled.
- Serve: Pour straight from the freezer into chilled martini glasses. No shaking or stirring required.
- Garnish: Finish with a skewered anchovy-stuffed olive or a twist of lemon peel for extra zing.
