New World

My Father would be astonished by the range and quality of wines coming out of the newer wine making countries. For some the term 'New World' is probably something of a misnoma. Over the last 20 years wines from Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina to name but a few have revolutionised how we perceive, drink and chose wine. Anyone who has grown up in this time will perhaps query why they are still called 'New World'. The rest of us (admitedly older) will simply remember the days when if you wanted a wine it would most likely come from France, Germany, Italy or Spain. Certainly if you wanted to be taken seriously at a dinner table the wine absolutely had to come from one of these countries. Now that has all changed. Here we offer 6 of what we hope is an interesting selection from the New (ish) World.
