Description
Joseph Krug understood that the essence of Champagne is pleasure itself. He worked for some time for a Champagne Hopuse that still exists to this day, but felt the region and his employer were not presenting their Champagnes to their full potential. And so began a legacy that remains to this day that requires extraordinary attention to detail. The grapes harvested to make Krug Grande Cuvee come from a myriad of vineyards and even then they may not come from a vineyard but a small plot within a vineyard. The company is less likely to follow the accepted hierarchy within the region as well, preferring character and grapes that suit their Champagne rather than simply buying what is simply thought of as the best.
