Gimlet Recipe

Basic, but in a good way. It doesn’t get as simple or more refreshing than the iconic Gimlet cocktail. Composed of gin, fresh lime juice and sugar, the cocktail is classified as a gin sour, putting it up there with some of our other favourite gin cocktails.

The Gimlet has one of the more interesting origin stories, and much like several iconic cocktails, its roots lie in military history and was created by a doctor, rather than a bartender.  Officers & sailors in the British Navy were administered a daily ration of lime juice to ward off scurvy, and when combined with their ration of gin - the gimlet was born.

The gin Gimlet can also be modified to suit your preferences. A classic gin flavour combination such as cucumber could be used to create a cucumber gin gimlet, or basil - or even berries!
